Things We Forget

  • Grocery shopping. I procrastinate until my fridge holds only beer and dip when there are no chips in sight..

  • Results

The cool-down after a workout. I want results, not relaxation.

  • Luck

Watering plants. I want to be the kind of person who remembers, but they often rely on rain or luck.

  • Enticing

Gratitude reflections at the end of the day. I know it’s good for my mental health, but my bed is often too enticing to bother with it.

  • The News

Checking the news. I crave peace more than I crave being “informed.”

  • Budget

Budget tracking. I know I should, but the numbers make me feel like I’m doing homework.

  • Magnetic

Skincare at night. My bed is magnetic. The cleanser is optional.

  • Meal prep

Meal prep Sundays. I love the idea, but I always end up ordering sushi instead.

  • Packing

Packing lunches. It’s like my creativity goes on strike the moment I see a sandwich bag.

  • Small talk at work. I’m all for connection, but “how’s your weekend?” drains me faster than any meeting.
