I made the decision to drive recklessly when I was 16. When I woke up in a hospital seven weeks later, I was very confused. It took me months to relearn how to walk, speak, and think again, This experience helped me grow because I learned the consequences of dangerous actions.
I also learned how to apply effort. I had never really experienced anything traumatic before the accident, so waking up from the coma and gaining sentience taught me about resilience. I fought with my brain to regrow those movement connections in my corpus callosum harder than I have ever fought for anything in my life. It paid off, because now I am more or less fully recovered. I function independently, and I live on my own in a room. I have housemates, but they leave me alone.
What’s a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow? Comment to let me know!
