I have a quote that describes my younger self’s outlook on life perfectly: “This is our decision, to live fast and die young. We’ve got the vision, now let’s have some fun,” is a song lyric by MGMT. As a teen, I was so addicted to living that I forgot to mind my own safety. This ended badly.

    My grandfather used to tell us kids, “Enjoy yourself while you’re young”; he started work the day he turned 14 and retired 51 years later. You take risks when you’re young. We surprise ourselves by surviving.

      This was my exact mindset. I ended up spending 7 weeks in a coma after a car wreck.

        I’m glad you survived. I was prone to take it too far skiing. Several need misses. Broken bones a few times over.
