Have you changed in a big way at any point in your life? When I was in college, I learned how to use my trauma and my work ethic to take advantage of my age and situation. This shaped my awareness of my own autonomy in a big way, and led me to begin to realize my intrinsic worth. Our experiences define who we are.
This opportunity may not have presented itself if it had not been for Lucius. Lucius simply advised me, his exact words being, “You could,” when I asked him about embarking on this endeavor. I listened to him, and found I actually liked the work. This caused me to grow in a big way. It led me to recognize my autonomy and my own value. “Know your worth!” Frank said to me.
Most of who we are comes from what we’ve been through—the people we’ve loved, the losses we’ve carried, the risks we took, and the ones we were too scared to try. When you look at your life, which experiences do you feel have shaped you the most? I’d love to hear—share a comment and let me know.
