What’s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?

To deal with negative emotions, one can choose an emotional regulation coping skill to use. Then, they can use it. My go-to coping skills are diaphragmatic breathing, Diaphragmatic breathing is breathing into your diaphragm. It is useful to reduce stress, stabilize vitals, and it supports clear thinking by ensuring the brain is getting enough oxygen.
