I think humans can definitely colonize Mars, provided humanity is around long enough. Terraforming is the only sustainable solution to colonizing Mars. Terraforming Mars could make it more Earth-like over generations. Early life: pressurized suits mandatory outside, indoor parks with Earth plants, and a economy based on rare minerals. Kids playing in low-g bounce houses sounds fun!
