I focus on progress instead of perfection. An example of this was on 2011, when I rolled a two-door car. The brain injury that resulted landed me in the hospital for three and a half months. I dealt with a lot of fear and self-doubt when I woke up paralyzed and weak.
Willpower and the constant care of nurses and doctors is what allowed me to break the process down into smaller steps. First, I focused on moving my right arm. I have no memory of this, but my right arm was the first part of my body to awaken from the coma. Then, days passed before I could sit up. I focused on learning to move one part of my body again at a time.
How do you handle fear and self-doubt? Comment to let me know!
