I use social media to check in on friends, especially those I have not seen in a while. It can also be a place to learn what your friends and family are up to. In therapy, I learned that any social media use will have a detrimental impact on health. This is due to the comparisons one unconsciously makes between themselves and the imaginary online persona of their friends. Therefor, I try to use social media as little as possible.
