Now, I feel bad and stupid. Feeling stupid is almost worst than feeling bad, to me. This is because I have family who
equates intelligence to worth. This is mistaken – intelligence does not equal worth.
I didn’t do something I should have done before I moved in. As soon as I knew the address, I should have looked up
the property records.
I hear you. Please don’t be hard on yourself—forgetting one step doesn’t make you stupid. It just makes you human. You recognized it now, and that shows awareness and growth. Intelligence is only one tiny piece of who we are, and it definitely does not equal worth. You are valuable because of who you are, not because of what you know or overlook.
