I used to think gender norms were mostly intrinsic, biological, and fixed. Then, I learned about a study in which very very young children were tested on their ability to solve STEM problems. The study observed no difference between the ability of little girls and the ability of little boys to solve these problems. This provides valid evidence to the view that cognitive differences between the two major genders is mostly socialized rather than mostly intrinsic, biological, and fixed.
