My mom’s best friend’s who treats me like a bonus daughter.
My coworker who always brings snacks “just in case someone needs one.” It’s always me.
The volunteer at the library who recommended a book that felt like home.
My favorite person right now is anyone who asks for consent—emotionally, conversationally, physically. It’s nice when others do not make me feel uncomfortable.
My younger cousin who is unafraid to be weird. I wish I’d learned that sooner.
My friend who just had a baby and sends me photos of her. It is basically therapy.
My mentor who is soft spoken but a bold thinker.
My uncle tells the best stories.
My coworker who is hilariously honest about not having it together. It is refreshing.
