What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?
I’d live each one like a different novel. In the first, I’d be a travel photographer, photographing radical, important scenes in news from around the world. In the second, a quiet librarian who writes fantasy novels at night. In the third, a chef who basks in the scent of rosemary and browned butter. The fourth? A marine biologist — salt in my hair, oxygen in my lungs. The fifth would belong to music, strumming songs no one hears but me. By the sixth, I’d crave stillness — maybe I’d be a forest ranger. The seventh would be for teaching. The eighth for building — carpentry, maybe, shaping something lasting.
