My most memorable vacation was a trip to Colorado* that my family took when I was a teenager. It was very fun. We went hiking and camped in the beautiful Rocky mountains. The Rocky mountains look gray in the distance, but they keep changing color as you get closer to them. After they look gray, they look purple, and finally green as you start getting close.
