I was a child. We went tent camping a lot – I hated camping because I was terrified of daddy-long-legs spiders. The spiders were always perched under our rain fly on the outside of our tent in the morning. I would open my eyes and face my exact phobia, every morning. I was so afraid. This fear was frustrating because it went against all logic. This made it difficult for adults like my parents to empathize with it.
