My favorite historical figure is Coco Channel because she revolutionized clothing to make it less patriarchal and more comfortable. She was born in 1883 into poverty. When her mother died and she was sent to live at convent-run orphanage. In 1902, she stuck out on her own and revolutionized the fashion industry.
She held the maxim, “Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.”
