Our behavior can be altered. Brains can be altered. Both of these things are true. Behavioral change is easier to implement when you are under 30 and your brain is still growing.

Change must be intentional. True change must be done on purpose over a long period of time to affect our lives. If we spend enough willpower over a long enough period of time, our very brains’ neurons can grow tiny connections in certain directions. These tiny connections are called synapses. Synapses connecting certain neurons are what makes up thoughts. Thoughts, as we know, directly influences behavior.

This is an important idea that the public school curriculum waits until the end of high school to point out. Why is this? It can be started so simply a five year old could understand, and take advantage of.
