Worldview

Before 2006, I remember learning in school that there were 9 planets including Pluto. Our book said this, our teacher said this, even our homework purported this “truth.” In 2006, Pluto’s status was officially downgraded to “dwarf planet.”

This is an example of science being “wrong,” or changing its mind about something. Our current understanding of the universe is constantly evolving. New discoveries are made often, and there are still things that we know we don’t know. This realization changed my worldview.
