I graduated from the University of La Crosse in 2019., but I still like to take courses online to stay busy. Right now, I’m taking the class Successful Negotiation: Essential Strategies and Skills by the University of Michigan. It is an interesting course.
We learned about decision trees, and how you can use them to make any decision. A decision tree is a linear way to conceptualize your choice and the outcomes linked to each decision made. It provides a. good way to conceive your options in mathematical terms.
A decision tree looks like a tree on its side. Rectangles between the “branches” represent decisions, and circles represent unknowns. The probability of each outcome is represented next to the tree.
Decision trees offer a clear, logical framework for evaluating choices and outcomes. This can be especially useful in situations involving uncertainty. I’m glad to be learning practical skills I can apply not just in negotiations, but in everyday decisions too.
