I spend Mondays and Wednesdays at the nursing home with a loved one. Today, a male patient at the nursing home turned to me and said, “I like that jacket.”
All I said was, “Please don’t say anything about my appearance,” and everyone in the room stopped talking for a second and stared at me.
I had been ready for him to comment on my appearance for days. I saw and heard him talk about a woman on T.V’s appearance last week. I thought, “if he ever comments on my appearance, I won’t say ‘thank you,’ I will politely ask him not to comment on my appearance.”
