Who is your favorite historical figure?
My favorite historical figure is Marie Skłodowska Curie. Not only did she discover the elements radium and polonium with her husband in Paris, but she did so in 1898, forty years before women could even vote in France. She won two Nobel prizes – one for physics in 1903, and one for chemistry in 1911. In 1906, she was the first woman to become a professor at the University of Paris.
