Talk therapy is literally just changing the way you think. It’s like school, and once you know the right things to think, then you start to think them in situations in real life.

It really is that simple. “Therapy” is conflated as this big, difficult thing, and it is, but as a teen I remember it being framed as this negative, annoying thing by friends and society. Talk therapy has benefited me in unimaginable ways, but I remember I was shocked at the efficacy of their methods when I attended residential therapy for 5 weeks after I graduated college. I saw people change from somber rebels to wholesome hooligans.
