I wish I had learned how to set boundaries earlier than I did. Setting boundaries is communicating or making rules for yourself on how to interact (or not interact) with people who continue to exhibit problematic behavior or behaviors.
As a child, I was very sheltered. I did not learn the vital skill of boundary setting until 2021, when I was in my mid-twenties. At that time, the problematic behavior of the people had surrounded myself with became so overwhelming that I actually relocated cities. This was the first boundary I had ever set in my life, which had allowed others to take advantage of me for years.
