Starved Rock state park is a state park in LaSalle country in the Illinois. In spring, several waterfalls exist there, and some spectacular sandstone cliffs were formed by glaciers long ago near what is now Oglesby, IL.

Buffalo rock is beautiful. The cliffs rose above us for football field-length at a time. The water was so low we stopped on a fresh miniature island which had been a sandbar and smoked a few bowls and had a few beers. It was glorious.
