My favorite drink is a kamikaze, which is three parts triple sec, vodka, and lime juice. I’ve lost track of the number of times I blacked out from drinking too many kamikazes, but I can tell you they led to some of the happiest times of my life, when I lived in Madison, Wisconsin. Nights barely remembered are highlights of my memories, and the closeness shared with friends was unmatched. I remember once, when my friend I’d had a crush on forever was blackout drunk, and he just randomly blurted out to me, “if we had a kid they’d be so smart.” I was shocked, and a little dismayed and confused. If these were his true thoughts, then why had he always rejected my advances? Later, I realized it was because he respected me too much to have sex with me. I was touched.
