On our third date, Josef packed a picnic lunch for us. He picked me up from my house in his bright red pickup truck. We drove into the park a ways and parked in a parking lot underneath an abundance of tall deciduous trees.

We walked across a field, and, in a secluded area, he hung his hammock between two towering trees next to a creek. It was beautiful to lay with him and eat our meal. We talked about everything. He talked a little about his trauma, and I listened. Then I talked a little about my trauma, and he listened. It was nice.

I think it’s safe to say that I really like Josef.

Anyway, I have a good feeling about this relationship. I feel like we get each other beyond the extent to which most couples get each other. This is just a feeling – it may not be true, but it is how I feel at this time. The wilderness loving side of him definitely clicks with me. I’m sure many more things click with me too, and I can’t wait to discover them.
